ARCHIVAL NOTE, 7/19/17: Hallwalls had previously screened Killer of Sheep a few years earlier, on April 26, 1988, as part of PROGRAM #4: AFRICAN AMERICAN INDEPENDENT CINEMA, a tribute to Third World Newsreel on its 20th anniversary that also featured films from 1968 on the Black Panthers, Yippies, and Ho Chi Minh.

On July 18, 2017, Hallwalls would screen Killer of Sheep again on the occasion of the film's 40th-anniversary restoration, remastering, and re-release in 2016.
