YANN BEAUVAIS AND EDSON BARRUS

Presented at:
Hallwalls

Yann Beauvais, who last screened at Hallwalls over 10 years ago, returns with collaborator Edson Barrus for an evening of short experimental video works. In 1982 beauvais founded Light Cone, a non-profit organization in Paris that supports the distribution of experimental cinema. A widely published author and curator, beauvais is recognized internationally for his media art works that explore film, video, and installations. Most recently, beauvais has collaborated on video projects with Edson Barrus. Barrus is the founder of Rés do Chão in Rio, which is considered a "Space for Gathering and Experimental Autonomy" - a free territory for the presentation and discussion of cultural and artistic practices. He is widely regarded as a visual artist and curator of international reputation and most recently has experimented with the medium of video.
