Welcome to the Sequester Series, a weekly concert featuring solo music performers from across the Western New York region. Every Tuesday night in February and March at 8:00 pm, Hallwalls will host a live performance from our theater streamed live to you and viewable on this page. Each stream will cost $7.00, but Hallwalls Members will have free access! Consider this an incentive for becoming a member - buy a membership at any level and get access to the entire Sequester Series ($63 value).
Carrying the torch passed from her mother Lorna Hill (of Ujima Theatre Company), Zoe Scruggs, aka Curtis Lovell, performs with rare depth and authenticity and a direct emotional power. Scruggs has performed in a multitude of music projects and theatrical productions in Buffalo and beyond, and in recent years has focused on developing solo music performance as Curtis Lovell. Influenced by the likes of Jill Scott, Nina Simone, Nat King Cole, and Patsy Cline, Scruggs has developed her own unique voice, which she uses to create subtle grooves and multi-layered harmonies in real time with a mic, amp, and a pedal.
Hallwalls Music Program is made possible through public funds from the New York State Council on the Arts, a state agency and a grant from the Cullen Foundation.
