The Hallwalls Future Fund is a legacy campaign launched in honor of Executive Director Edmund Cardoni, who will retire on August 9, 2025, after more than 35 years of visionary leadership. Our goal is to raise $50,000 by that date to help secure the next 50 years of fearless, independent art in Buffalo and beyond.

Gifts of $250 and above made by August 9 will be permanently acknowledged on a commemorative metal sign in Hallwalls’ lobby—a lasting tribute to Ed and the community that helped build the fund in his name.

For more than three decades, Edmund Cardoni has been the steady force behind Hallwalls—guiding the organization with passion, humility, and a fierce commitment to artists and free expression. Now, as Ed prepares to retire this August, we invite you to celebrate his legacy by contributing to the Hallwalls Future Fund—a new fund established in his honor to help secure Hallwalls' next 50 years.

This fund will be used to build organizational reserves and strengthen Hallwalls’ ability to support artists, offer free and low-cost programming, and remain a vital space for artistic experimentation and dialogue in Buffalo. We will continue to be the launch pad that support artists careers. During Ed’s tenure, Hallwalls was a cornerstone of the art community in Western New York, and we want to ensure it continues that role for decades to come.
